Artist & Work
Yazan Khalili weaves together parallel stories, focusing on the effect geographical distance has on our rendering of territory, and its ability to heighten or arrest our political and sentimental attachments. Images become frames where the spectator embodies the progression of time and narratives. His solo shows have been held in Mumbai, Mechelen, London, Paris, Ramallah, Dubai, Amman and Rome, and he participated in the 54th Venice and the 11th Sharjah Biennials, and has published widely. Born in 1981, he lives in and out of Palestine.
